So that's an audio collage!
The Bosch Institute is an energetic stage act and a creative collaboration between Thandiwe Shiphrah and composer/musician Daniel Arite. Their “audio-collage” concerts feature dynamic oratory, original music drawn from jazz, bluegrass, and classical works, and stirring poetry that celebrates life and creativity. Audio collages are playful compositions that arise out of an ongoing inquiry into artistic possibilities and a willingness to embrace many avenues of expression, including traditional instruments (such as guitar and balaphone) as well as unconventional devices chosen for their unusual sonic possibilities (whirlies, household containers, found objects). Random sounds and utterances add emotional impact to the mix and contribute to the improvisational nature of each Bosch Institute performance. Adventurous in spirit, motivating and entertaining, and totally unlike any other poetry and music collaboration you’ve ever heard, The Bosch Institute will make you say “Yeah, why not make something up?” Be sure to check out their arts immersion and creativity workshops.
